ROBO-ONE 25th Biped Robot Fight Tournamnt (Sep 13-14 , 2014)


ROBO-ONE 25th sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo on Sep 13th and 14th, 2014.    ROBO-ONE Light 9th took place on Feb 13th, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Sep 13th and the main event ROBO-ONE 25th Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Sep 14th.

Regulations of ROBO-ONE 25th
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg.  Details of the body regulation were same as those of the 24th.

ROBO-ONE 25th was held as the tournament with 48 robots upper place robots in the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace including winners of the local robot competitions.

4.5 m Footrace
Four meters and 50 cm Footrace was carried out as the preliminary competition to select 48 robots and to decide the tournament order.  One hundred and one robots joined the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace.

Robots had to walk 4.5 m course with 90 cm width within 1 minute.  In the 24rd,  thin rubbers under 2 mm was pasted on the board in the course.   Each robot time record taken 4.5 m walk, or the distance from start point if robot could not walk within 1 minute, or robot fell down from the course was recorded.

Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 4.5 m course pasted with thin rubbers in the course, seemed to be not flat.  Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 4.5 m course for most of robots.    All robots walked the course within 1 minute, passed the preliminary competition.   The result of the preliminary 4.5 m Foot race is here.

The 1st place was Frosty by 6.67 seconds, the 2nd place was Garoo by 12.05 seconds and the 3rd place was Chromkid by 12.39 seconds.

Just 60 robots could reach the goal within 1 minute. Upper 13 robots were under 20 seconds, the 14th to 38th place robots were under 30 seconds and the 46th could join final fight by 37.4 seconds.

ROBO-ONE 25th Tournament (Light Class, 3 kg or Under)
 Side punch has been prohibited since ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament in the robot fight.

The tournament winner was Simple Fighter by Zeno.  The 2nd place was Gargoyle KID by Yoshida Familia.  The 3rd place was Chromkid by Kupapa and the 4th place was Gattender by Sima-san.   Result of the tournament is here.

ROBO-ONE 24th Biped Robot Fight Tournamnt (Feb 15-16 , 2014)

ROBO-ONE 24th sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at HALE TOKYO in Tokyo on Feb 15th and 16th, 2014.    ROBO-ONE Light 8th took place on Feb 15th, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Feb 15th and the main event ROBO-ONE 24th Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Feb 16th.

Regulations of ROBO-ONE 24th
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg.  Details of the body regulation were same as those of the 23rd except for prohibited attack from sitting position in the robot fight tournament.

ROBO-ONE 24th  was held as the tournament with 48 robots upper place robots in the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace including winners of the local robot competitions .

Just 45 robots could reach the goal within 1 minute. Upper 12 robots were under 20 seconds, the 13th to 25th place robots were under 30 seconds and 43th could join final fight by 50.53 seconds.

ROBO-ONE 24th Tournament (Light Class, 3 kg or Under)
 Side punch was prohibited in the ROBO-ONE 24th Tournament as a new regulation in the robot fight.

The tournament winner was Obelisk by Team of Shibaura Institute of Technology.  The 2nd place was Leghorn by Nakayan-san.  The 3rd place was Haduki by ROBO-Mecha Kobo.  The 4th place was Ifureat by Akitsuka-san.  Result of the tournament is here.

Robot Pro-Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!18` took place in Koufu City (Aug 13-14, 2014)

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!18`,  took place at Yamanashi Prefectural Science Center in Koufu City on Aug 13-14 during `Take off  Robot Colony` from July 19 to Aug 24, 2014.  Each four matches started at 10:30 am and 2:00 pm.

Omata-san, producer of Robot  Pro-Wrestling Dekinnoka! and Hikima-san, builder of Kumataro also uploaded some pictures to their web site as follows:

 


`Dekinnoka!` in Japanese, means `Can you do it?`. As Omata-san has been loving real professional wrestling, the 1st Robot Professional Wrestling in Soka on Nov. 3rd, 2008 was planned and held by him.

He explained the 'Robot Professional Wrestling' was not 'Wrestling' but 'Fighting Arts'. The purpose of `Dekinnoka!` was not only robot fight but also to inform pleasure of robot. He planned not only wrestling match but also the back story of each wrestler character such as a real pro-wrestling match.

Robot Pro-Wrestling `Dekinnoka!` has been also supported by the members of Kanto-Training-Group.

EXSOS, a New Multi-Legged Robot Flame Kit Put on the Market


REC-Design put a new multi-legged robot flame kit series HP-25S on the market.

Robot shop, Technologia also put `Multi-Legged Robot Kit` (just flame H25-63N) and `Multi-Legged Robot Kit EXOS Dedut Set` including H25-63N(flame kit), RCB-4HV(control board), 18 KRS-2542HVs(servomotor) and controller. The price are 53,000 yen and 140,000 yen excluding tax.

The new multi-legged robot can use KRS-2500 series of KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD.



Multi-legged robot has been being miner robot compared with biped robot in Japan. Just G-DOG , a kit of 4-legged robot, was on the market from HIP JAPAN in July 2008.  KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD also put Multi-legged robot such as Turtle Robot 02, KMR-M6 and KMR-M4.

Robot builders who has been making custom-built biped robot are interested in making multi-legged robot.   More than 20 times of Robot Survival Game with multi-legged robots were carried out in Tokyo.

The 1st issue `Weekly Robi` Completed on July 29, 2014

The 1st issue of DeAGOSTINI weekly magazine,`Weekly Robi` completed with 70 volumes on July 29, 2014.  The 1st was issued on Feb. 19, 2013.  The 2nd issue was also carried out on Feb 25, 2014.   The Robi part was attached every weekly magazine.  The first volume price was 790 yen including tax.  Price of the 2nd volume was 1990 yen.  The volume attached control board was 4,990 yen.

Gingmag also introduced the issue of `Weekly Robi` in English.  Details of the 1st issue and the 2nd issue were described in this blog.

Robi has support and community site opened on July 22nd, 2014 as `Robi.club`.  DeAGOSTINI also uploaded Robi making videos for each volume to YouTube DeAGOSTINI Channel.

The 11th Wandahoo Robot Carnival will take place in Kawasaki City on July 20th, 2014

The 11th Wandahoo Robot Carnival will be held at Kawasaki-Sangyoushinkou-Kaikan in Kawasaki City on July. 20th, 2014.  Twenty-six robots will join the 11th Wandahoo.  The competition will be shown on  `Ustream Wandahoo Robot Carnival` from 12:00 to 18:00 , July 20th 2014. (JST).

Wandahoo Robot Carnival is sponsored by Ishikawa-san and supported by the members of Kanto ROBOT Practice(Kanto-gumi Robot Training Meeting). Ishikawa-san and his stuffs are busy preparing USTREAM Live system of the Carnival now. Entry of the Carnival will finish on Nov. 30th, and 30 robots will join.

The Carnival is robot competition consisted with various four type games such as Dash 2000 (competition of 2 robots, 2 m U-turn course foot race; each robot gets points depended on the order of record time), Bottle Traction (pushing or pulling a basket with 500 or 1000 ml bottles for 2 m within 1 minute; points are multiplication of number of bottles and distance carried), Dice Shot (dice soccer of 2 robots; each robot gets points depended on the spots of dice shot for 2 minutes) and Cubs (team game of 3 robots each, carrying cubs to own territory for 2 minutes; winner team members get points) and Robot Fight with the best 4 robots. Therefore, this Carnival is called `Robot Olympic`.

Each robot gets points from each game. In the case of team game, winner team member robots gets points. Four robots gotten many points can join the final tournament of Robot Fight. The rest robots have Ramble Fights. Those games were planned by Ishikawa-san.
It is necessary for winner that the robot has a high activity with performance and also good luck.


The 1st Carnival took place on July 16, 2006 and then the Carnival held twice in January and July every year. From 2010, the Carnival takes place in July once a year. The 21st Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku in Tokyo (June 30, 2014)


The 21st Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on June 29, 2014.   Six robots as Hiryu (Koizumi), Famitank (Ninagawa), BLACK TIGER L46 (IKETOMU), Sakura-2gou (Yoshisda), Nikoichi (9th) and Denryu (Gons)  joined the 21st Survival Game.   All robots were controlled by camera system in all battles.

 
Seventeen Games such as 6 Combat Shooting, 2 Extermination Battle, 3 Duel Fight, 3 Tochka Battle, 2 Flag Battle and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 21st. All games of videos were uploaded IKETOMU Channel and Noborizaka-san also uploaded videos.

Combat Shooting :
Combat shooting is a practice game for training of shoot skill.  Robot moves to the shooting place from the starting point and shoots the target. Robot has to go to the shooting place for easy shooting.  The target was a small can covered with aluminum foil.  Shooting of the center place of the target got bonus points.

KRS-2572HV, a new KONDO servo, will put on the market ( May 13, 2014 )

KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD. announced a new high power servo, KRS-2572HV ICS for KHR-3HV, would put on the market. The servo will ship out and be gotten from KONDO web shop or other robot shops by the end of May. 

KHR-3HV is easily upgraded by changing two legs' servos.  User of KHR-3HV who wants to upgrade one's robot can get high torque servo easily.  Kondo uploaded the report of KHR-3HV conversion of KRS-2552RHV to KRS-2572HV.



Characteristics of the new servo are as follows:
1) The new servo is using special aluminum gears.
2) The servo case is the same size as the KRS-2552/2542HV series.
3) The new servo is control by ICS 3.5 which can use serial or PMW.

The 20th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Apr 27, 2014)

The 20th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Apr. 27, 2014.   Seven robots as BLACK TIGER L46 (IKETOMU), Sakura-2gou (Yoshisda), Famitank (Ninagawa), Denryu (Gons), Stallone (Noborizaka), D-Tank (BW) and Hiryu (Koizumi) joined the 20th Survival Game.   All robots were controlled by camera system in all battles.

The 9th TIROL-CHOCO Robot Competition in Akihabara, Tokyo (Apr 26, 2014)

 
The 9th TIROL-CHOCO Robot Competition , sponsored by MASAYUKI-san, supported by RT Co., Ltd. and cooperated by TIROL-CHOCO CO., took place at Akihabara DAIBIRU studio ASIMO, Tokyo on Apr. 26, 2014.   The competition is for robots with TIROL-CHOCO exterior. The 1st competition was held on July 9th, 2007. After that, the completion took place every year.

Regulation of robot body was as follows;
1) Robot had to put on big TIROL-CHOCO exterior, which size were bottom (100 mm x 100 mm), upper surface (86 mm x 86 mm) and height (46 mm) respectively.
2) Biped robot. Number of servo for legs was under 4. Total number of servo was not limited.
3) Control method such as autonomous, radio and wired was free.
Such type robots are known to Roppo type robot which was produced by Mr. Iwaski, Robot Force . Such type robot, Pirkus-R Type-02 (chobi) with 8 axes was also put on the market.

The competition was consisted with three kinds of games . Each robot got points depended on the order of each game.

1) Two m Foot Race with Obstacles
Robot walks 2 m course within 5 minutes. The order is depended on the time. If robot cannot walk for 2 m within 5 minutes, the order is depended on the distance from start line. Each robot can try twice and the best time is recorded. If 2 cm bump put in the course, the time is calculated to shorter.

2) TIROL-CHOCO Shooting
Three paper cups with TIROL-CHOCO on the top put on the field. Robot shoots the paper cups from a distance of 65 cm. Robot gets dropped TIROL-CHOCO from the top of paper cup. The order is depended on the number of shot TIROL-CHOCO.

3) TIROL-CHOCO Carrying Race
One arm-robots put on the 2 m course. Player removes TIROL-CHOCO from the basket of arm-robot to the basket on the robot. Each robot carries TIROL-CHOCO on the robot within 5 minutes for 2 m. The order is depended on the time and the number of TIROL-CHOCO carried.

After the 3 games, the winner is robot gotten the most total points of game.

Five robots, BT-R2HV (IKETOMU), Z-TIROMON (Motoiinchi), Garuu (Kumama), Bosa-2gou (Mukouyama Masaharu) and Puchro (KEG) attended the competition.

The winner of the 9th TIROL-CHOCO Robot Competition was Z-TIROMON by Motoiinchi, the 2nd place was Garuu by Kumama and the 3rd place were BT-R2HV by IKETOMU, Bosa-2gou by Mukouyama Masaharu and Puchro byKEG.

Two New B3M-SC Series KONDO Servos, B3M-SC-1040-A and B3M-SC-1170-A were put on the Market (Apr 7, 2014)

KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD. announced two new B3M-SC series servos,  B3M-SC-1040-A and B3M-SC-1170-A were put on the market on Apr 7, 2014.  SC means using core less motor.    As a B3M-SB series servo, B3M-SB-1040-A has been on the market, SB means using brush less motor.  B3M series has one SB type and 2 SC type servos.

The 14th KONDO BATTLE at Galaxcity in Adachi-ku, Tokyo (Mar 29, 2014)


The 14th KONDO BATTLE sponsored by KONDO KAGAKU CO., LTD took place on Mar. 29, 2014 at Galxcity in Adachi-ku, TOKYO.    The 14th KONDO BATTLE was carried out as KHR Class and Open Class.

The regulation of KHR Class was following the 20th ROBO-ONE fight regulation and KONDO CUP body regulation, and Open Class was following the 24th ROBO-ONE fight regulation and body regulation.

Ten KHR Class robots and 13 Open Class robots joined the competition.  KHR Class robots were divided into 2 pre-leagues as A and B.  The 1st and 2nd place robot of each league joined the final tournament.   Open Class 13 robots were divided into 3 pre-leagues as A, B and C. The 1st and 2nd place of each league and the 3rd place of C pre-league joined the final tournament.

The winner of KHR Class Tournament was Azusaburo by Azusa-san and the 2nd place was Rapural by Shirakaze M-san.  The winner of the Open Class was Gargoyle KID by Yoshida familia and the 2nd place was Chromkid by Kupapa-san.

The 19th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Mar 2, 2014)


The 19th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Mar. 2, 2014.   Seven robots as Denryu (Gons), Fami-Tank (Ninagawa), Stallone-X (Noborizaka), BLACK TIGER L46,  Yabusame (Mota) , CR-Cannon (Yoshida) and TIGER (Nishida) joined the 19th Survival Game.   All robots were controlled by camera system in all battles.

Total 18 Robot Survival Games such as 2 Combat Shooting, 8 Tochka Battle (a new game), 2 Extermination Battle, 1 Fox Hunting, 3 Duel Fight and 2 Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 19th. Tobby-san uploaded videos of all games.   Sanzai-san also reported the 19th Game in his blog (in Japanese).

Combat Shooting :
Combat shooting is a practice game for training of shoot skill.  Robot moves to the shooting place from the starting point and shoots the target. Robot has to go to the shooting place for easy shooting.  The target was a small can covered with aluminum foil in the 16th.  Shooting of the center place of the target got bonus points.

Tochka (Pillbox) Battle:
Tochka (Pillbox) Battle, a new battle is planned for the case of small number of  robots joined the survival games.  Attacker robot moves and shoots the target (flag) in enemy territory. Player of defense team in the territory (in Tochka) shoots attack team robots by mini-gun. The winner is the attacker team shot down the flag within 5 minutes or the tochka team kept the flag for 5 minutes.

Tochka (Pillbox) Battle: BLACK TIGER L46.  The winner was tochka team (1 minute and 33 seconds).


Team Tochka (Pillbox) Battle: CR-Cannon, Yabusame, Stallone-X, Fami-Tank. The winner was robot team (22 seconds).

DeAGOSTINI Re-Issued `Weekly Robi` with Biped Robot Parts of Robi (Feb 25, 2014)


DeAGOSTINI re-issued weekly magazine, `Weekly Robi` with biped robot parts of Robi on Feb 25th, 2014.  Robi parts are attached every weekly magazine.   Robot will complete with 70 volumes of magazine. The first issue price is 790 yen including tax. Price of the 2nd issue will be 1895 yen excluding tax.

Gingmag also introduced the issue of `Weekly Robi` in English.

Tomotaka Takahashi who is well known as robot creator such as CHROINO, FT, ROPID, EVOLTA etc., designed Robi. 

Control board of Vstone Co., Ltd is used for the robot.   Servo motors of Futaba Corporation are used with 20 axes.  Voice-recognizing board and Human-detect-sensor are also attached.  The weight is 1 kg including battery and the height is 340 mm.

KCB-4WL, New Wireless LAN Board Complete Version for Hobby Robot from KONDO (Jan 16th, 2014)


KONDO KAGAKU Co. Ltd put a new wireless lan board, KCB-4WL complete version on the Market. The new board, beta version was put on the market last September. The price including all systems is 36,000 yen (excluding tax).

KONDO KAGAKU Co. Ltd opened a new wireless LAN board for hobby robot on Sep 6th, 2013. KCB-4WL is a board for remote controlling robot system with KONDO robot controlling board RCB-3HV or RCB-4HV.   It seems to be useful for such as autonomous robot, multi-legged robot game etc.

KONDO KAGAKU Co. Ltd put KCB-3WL,  previous version of KCB-4WL on the market in 2010.  Details of the KCB-3WL were also described in this blog.

ROBOT JAPAN 7th took place in Tsukiji, Tokyo (Jan 19, 2014)


ROBOT JAPAN 7th took place at Tsukiji-Honganji Buddhist Hall in Tokyo on April 10, 2011.   Robot entertainment, ROBOT JAPAN was sponsored by Mazel Japan, a entertainment planning company managing the Buddhist Hall.

ROBOT JAPN started as ROBOT JAPAN Zero  held on Jan. 9, 2011 and ROBO JAPAN 1st took place on Apr 10, 2011 and then ROBOT JAPAN carried out twice every year.  ROBOT JAPAN 1st (Part1) and (Part2) on Apr. 10, 2011 were describe in this blog.

ROBOT JAPAN 7th had 4 Class, such as Biped Robot Fight Light Class (2 kg or under), Biped Robot Fight Bantam Class (3 kg or under), Robot Dance, Robot Free Style (Short Performance) and Biped Robot Survival Marathon.  The regulation of the competition was described in the web site.

Competitions were shown on `USTREAM ROBOT JAPAN 7th Channel` and videos were keeping in the Channel.  Details were also reported in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).

Robot Dance Contest
Every kind robot, biped robot and except for biped robot, such as multi-legged robot also can join this class.  Robot plays dancing with the music requested by radio control or autonomus. Dance stage is 3600mm×1800mm.

Four Robots joined the contest were IKUMA, WONDER WOMAN & SPIDERMAN and MENOU.   The 1st place was IKUMA.



Robot Short Performance Contest
Every kind robot, excepr for biped robot also can join this class.  Robot plays a unique short performance by radio control or autonomus.  Stage is 3600mm×1800mm.

Four robots joined the contest. The winner was WONDER WOMAN & BATMAN.

(1)BLACK TIGER L45 by IKETOMU.  Anomalous 5-Legged Robot walks with several style and attacks 2 L bottle equiped with water by head leg.



(2)RKS-1 by Yamaguchi-Jidoukikai. Robot hand autonomously stabbed a ball with sword.



(3)Stallone-X by Robo de Savge. Four-legged robot moves as a dog.



(4)WONDER WOMAN & BATMAN by RND. Kicker Robot kicks a ball autonomously as soccer penaruty kick then Keeper Robot stops the ball autonomously.



Biped Robot Survival Marathon
Robots walk around marathon course. Each robot starts 10 seconds interval. The robot touched or passed by the behind robot was retired. The survived robot was the winner of race.

Five robots joined the race. The winner was Garoo.
