The 15th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Dec 16, 2012)

The 15th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Dec. 16, 2012.  Mokei-juku, for Figure Making Lesson Room was used for the 15th Robot Survival Game Field as the 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th one.

Four robots, Denryu (Gons), CR-Cannon (Yoshida), XeroTANK (Ninagawa) and Hyakkin-no-Manaita (Tokyo University of Science), joined the 15th Survival Game.   All robot were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Robot Survival Games such as Combat Shooting, Duel Fight and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in. Tobby-san uploaded videos in his YouTube channel.  Details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).  

Combat Shooting 1: Denryu
Combat shooting is a practice game for training of shoot skill.  Robot moves to the shooting place from the starting point and shoots the target. Robot has to go to the shooting place for easy shooting.  The target was a small can covered with aluminum foil in the 15th.  Shooting of the center place of the target got bonus point.



Denryu attached  with a new aiming system which moves with camera.  Therefore Denryu could shoot the target from the starting point.  The time was 8 seconds, the 1st place.

ISAMARO Mark Ⅱ, Entry Set was put on the market (Nov 15, 2012)

Robotama.com put ISAMARO Mark Ⅱ Entry Set on the market on Nov 15, 2012.  Entry Set was using low price servo, KRS-4031HV which toque was 13 kg/cm.  Details of KRS-4031HV were reported in this blog.

Robotama.com put ISAMARO as a new robot kit, on the market on April 26, 2010.  The first ISAMARO was using also low price servo, KRS-4024HVS, which torque was 10.5 kg/cm.  Details of the original ISAMARO were reported in this Blog.

Then Robotama.com put ISAMARO Mark Ⅱusing high torque servo, KRS-4032HV on the market in this August.   Two type of kit, RCB-4HV type  and RCB-3HV type were prepared.

ROBO-ONE Light 5th Final Match: Uchiman Z Gold (ISAMARO) vs Baboo-Custom (KHR-3HV Custom). ROBO-ONE Light 5th champion was Uchiman Z Gold by Team Mogu-Mogu. The champion got the right to join the 21th ROBO-ONE Tournament.

The 14th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Oct. 28, 2012)

The 14th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Oct. 28, 2012.  Mokei-juku, for Figure Making Lesson Room was used for the 14th Robot Survival Game Field as the 10th, 12th and 13th one.

Robot Survival Game was planned by Tanaka-san and Bishii-san. Mobile, not only multi-legged robot or biped robot but also mobile with wheel or caterpillar, which equipped with toy gun, hit sensor and camera system, can join to play survival game.  The 1st Robot Survival Game took place at Akihabara, Tokyo on July 19, 2010 and the game takes place every 2 months. Tanaka-san also planned several kind of survival game, such as Extermination Battle, Flag Battle and Fortress Battle.

Seven robots joined the 14th Survival Game were divided into two teams.  Gons-san team members were Denryu (Gons), Milfy (Tokyo University of Science), Kikuchi-1gou (Tokyo University of Science).   Noborizaka-san team were Stallone (Noborizaka), Yabusame (Mota), CR-Cannon(Yoshida) and Zerotank (Ninagawa).   All robot were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Robot Survival Games such as Extermination Battle, Flag Battle and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 14th Robot Survival Game. Noborizaka-san uploaded videos in his YouTube channel.  Details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).  

Extermination Battle: 1 (Destroy the enemy completely):
Each team fights to destroy the enemy completely within 5 minutes; Winner team is having larger number of survival robot after 5 minutes.  Gons Team (Denryu, Milfy, Kikuchi-1gou) vs Noborizaka team (Stallone, Yabusame, CR-Cannon, Zerotank) . The winner was Gons team.

`Dekinnoka!11` Robot Pro-Wrestling Match took place in Soka City (Nov 3, 2012)

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!11`, sponsored by Omata-san took place in Soka City on Nov 3, 2012 during Soka Fusasara Festival 2012.  Open 1st rehearsal 10:15 am to 11:45 am, the 2nd rehearsal 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm and the real stage was carried out 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm (JST).   The matches were shown on `Ustream Dekinnoka Channel` and videos are keeping in the channel.

Dekinnoka!11 was held as Tenkaneji Budokai 3rd (Best Martial Arts Screw Tournament On Earth 2nd).  My custom-built robot `BLACK TIGER NEO` also joined as `Nagare-BLACKTIGER`.

`Dekinnoka!` in Japanese, means `Can you do it?`. As Omata-san has been loving real professional wrestling, the 1st Robot Professional Wrestling in Soka on Nov. 3rd, 2008 was planned and held by him. He explained the 'Robot Professional Wrestling' was not 'Wrestling' but 'Fighting Arts'. The purpose of `Dekinnoka!` was not only robot fight but also to inform pleasure of robot.

President Mister Tamao of Robot Pro-Wrestling, who is Omata-san planned not only wrestling match but also the back story of each wrestler character such as a real pro-wrestling match. Promotion of Deknnoka!11 have been uploaded.

Opening:
Dekinnoka!11 was opened by Japanese Dancing of Tokotoko-maru and Line Dancing of Meters, mini Metallic Fighters was also carried out.  Opening  match, Metallic Fighter vs Haruo, flying robot was carried out.  The flying robot was custom-built by Amino-san.

Eight robots joined the tournament were Nagare-Yellow, Yukikaze, Newtrino, Wandahoo, Zerfar, Nagare-BLACKTIGER, Thunderbolt and Nagare-Gold.  Each robot had one Dragon Screw and the winner of each match could get all screws. Fighting rule was as follows; the winner was the robot which dropped out of the ring or knocked down his opponent. The winner of the tournament, robot gotten 8 screws could call Nejiron, God of Screw. Nejiron would answer the winner's request. These storys were similar to those of `Dragon Ball`.

DeAGOSTINI Has Issued `Weekly Robi` with Biped Robot Parts of Robi (Oct 30, 2012)


DeAGOSTINI issued weekly magazine, `Weekly Robi` with biped robot parts of Robi on Oct 30th, 2012.   Robi parts are attached every weekly magazine.   Robot will complete with 70 volumes of magazine. The first issue price is 790 yen including tax. Price of the 2nd issue will be 1990 yen.  The issue attached control board will be 4,990 yen.

Gingmag also introduced the issue of `Weekly Robi` in English.

Tomotaka Takahashi who is well known as robot creator such as CHROINO, FT, ROPID, EVOLTA etc., designed Robi. 

Control board of Vstone Co., Ltd is used for the robot.   Servo motors of Futaba Corporation are used with 20 axes.  Voice-recognizing board and Human-detect-sensor are also attached.  The weight is 1 kg including battery and the height is 340 mm.



DeAGOSTINI also issued weekly magazine, `Weekly ROBO XERO` with robot parts of ROBO XERO on Feb 8th, 2011.  Robot has completed with 70 volumes of magazine on June, 2012 and the details were described in this blog.

Promotion of Robot Pro-Wrestling Match: `Dekinnoka!11` will take place in Soka City on Nov 3, 2012

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!11`, sponsored by Omata-san will take place in Soka City on Nov 3rd, 2012 during Soka Fusasara Festival 2012. The 1st stage (open rehearsal) takes place 10:15 am to 11:45, the 2nd stage (open rehearsal) 12:15 pm to 13:45 pm and the 3rd stage (the performance) 14:15 pm to 15:45 (JST).   The matches will be shown on `Ustream Dekinnoka Channel`.    My custum-built robot `BLACK TIGER NEO` also will join as `Nagare BLACKTIGER`.

In the case of bad weather, `Dekinnoka!11` will be held at Robotoma, a robot shop in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo on the day.  The matches also will be shown on the Robotoma Ustream Channel.

Robot Survival Games such as Combat Shooting, Extermination Battle, Flag Battle, Hamburger Hill and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 13th Robot Survival Game. Details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).  

Before the 13th Games,  Shooting test of biodegradable luminescence airsoft BBs was carried out by Stallone. The trajectory were beautifull.

ROBO-ONE 21st Biped Robot Fight in Tokyo (Part 3) ROBO-ONE 21st Tournamnt (Sep 2, 2012)

ROBO-ONE 21th sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo on Sep 1st and 2nd, 2012.  ROBO-ONE Light 5th took place on Sep 1st, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Sep 1st and the main event ROBO-ONE 21st Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Sep 2nd.

ROBO-ONE 21st Tournament (Light Class, 3 kg or Under)

Regulations of ROBO-ONE 21st
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg. Details of the body regulation were same as those of the 20th.

ROBO-ONE 21st was held as the tournament with 48 robots which were one winner of the local robot competitions, champion of ROBO-ONE Light 5th and upper place 46 robots in the preliminary competition, 4.5 m Footrace taken place on Sep. 1st.

The tournament winner was Garoo by Kumama-san, who also got a prize of 5 hundred thousand yen.  Garoo won  the championship for three consecutive ROBO-ONE Tournament.   The 2nd place was Cortejyu-miharus by SHIBAURA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.  The 3rd place was Reguhorn by Nakayan-san and 4th Place was NagareGold by Kenta-san.   Result of the tournament was here.  

The 21st ROBO-ONE was the 10th anniversary. A memorial exhibition match was carried out before the 3rd place and final match. The exhibition match was hold by two new type ROBO-ONE robots as Haruo 68, flying robot and King Kizer, jumping robot by compressed air. It seems to be necessary for ROBO-ONE robot to innovate.

ROBO-ONE 21st sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo on Sep 1st and 2nd, 2012.    ROBO-ONE Light 5th took place on Sep 1st, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Sep 1st and the main event ROBO-ONE 21st Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Sep 2nd.

4.5 m Footrace

In the last ROBO-ONE 20th, 9 m Footrace was carried out. It was clear that robot were divided into two groups, one was robots could walk the 9 m course within 1 minute and the other was fell down from the course.  All robots walked the course within 1 minute passed the preliminary competition.

Four meters and 50 cm Footrace was carried out as the preliminary competition to select 46 robots and to decide the tournament order.  Upper 46 robots could attend the tournament.  One hundred-four robots joined the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace.

Robots had to walk 4.5 m course with 90 cm width within 30 seconds.   Each robot time record taken 4.5 m walk, or the distance from start point if robot could not walk within 30 seconds, or robot fell down from the course was recorded.

Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 4.5 m course seemed to be not flat in some parts and the center of the course was pasted sponsor advertise label. Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 4.5 m course for most of robots. A lot of  robots ran out of the course including Frosty, which seemed to be the fastest robot.  The result is here.

The 1st place was automo 05(Go-Wan) 7.78 seconds by holypong-san, the 2nd place was Garoo 11.21 by Kumama-san, the 3rd place was Chromkid 11.35 by Kupapa-san, the 4th place was  Tokotoko-maru 11.46 by Amino-san, the 5th place was Gergoil-mini 11.59 by Yoshida-san, the 6th place was Metallic Fighter 11.96 by Morinaga-san, the 7th place was Frog Food 13.06 by Shibata-san the 8th place was Aerobattler 13.93, the 9th was Corteju-Miharusu 15.71 and BLACK TIGER NEO, my robot was the 10th place, 15.72 seconds.

Just 40 robots could reach the goal within 30 seconds. Upper 10 robots were 15 seconds, the 11th to 16th robots were 20 seconds, 17th to 40th were 30 seconds.

At the beginning of 4.5 m Footrace, ROBO-ONE Committee announced Yoshimura-san entered to the ROBO-ONE Hall of Fame. Yoshimura-san is well known to God of ROBO-ONE and designer of KONDO KHR series robots. The first run was New R-Blue, LinkBlueMarkII custom-built by Yoshimura-san. ROBO-ONE 21st Biped Robot Fight in Tokyo (Part 1) ROBO-ONE Light 5th (Sep 1, 2012)

ROBO-ONE 21st sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo on Sep 1st and 2nd, 2012.   ROBO-ONE Light 5th took place on Sep 1st, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Sep 1st and the main event ROBO-ONE 21st Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Sep 2nd.

ROBO-ONE Light 5th

ROBO-ONE Light is robot fight tournament for robots on the market, which are officially recognized by ROBO-ONE Committee. Beginner, who gets robot from the market and want to attend the ROBO-ONE Tournament, also can attend the competition with his robot which is made from just robot kit. Custom-built robot, just the weight 1 kg or under also can attend the tournament. The winner of Light Class gets the right to attend the 21st ROBO-ONE Tournament on the next day.

The regulations are as follows;
1) Officially recognized robot regulation
Robots on the market, officially recognized by ROBO-ONE Committee, can attend the competition whether the robot adapt ROBO-ONE 21st regulation nor not. Remodeling is prohibited. Head parts can be remodeled and also covering robot body with plastic or paper is permitted.
2) Robot weight except for the officially recognized robot is 1 kg or under and the robot has to adapt ROBO-ONE 21st regulation.

In the tournament, custom-built robots handicapped by about 500 g compared with officially recognized kits such as KHR-3HV. It was interesting that how builder of custom robot 1 kg or under overcame the weight handicap and which robot kit was able to win the tournament. However, it is necessary for getting championship of robot fight tournament to carry 3 important factors such as good body, good motion and good control.

Thirty-six robots joined the tournament. They were KHR-3HVs including ROBO-ONE Custom,  ISAMARO and custom-built robots 1kg or under.  RONO-ONE Light 5th tournament was carried out divided four blocks.

The most attractive robot was Haruo 86, a flying robot custom-built by Team Hachiroku (Amino-san).  Haruo 86 got downs from White Fox by flying kick.  However, Haruo 86 lost the game on a foul because Haruo 86 did not walk on the ground.   The 1st Stage, Haruo 86 vs White Fox is as follows.



All blocks winners were officially recognized robots. Custom-built UK1 robots could overcome the weight handicap 500g.   The Champion was Uchiman Z Gold (ISAMARO), the 2nd place was Banboo Custom (KHR-3HV Custom) and the 3rd place was Uchiman Z Red (ISAMARO). The results are here.

Final Match: Uchiman Z Gold (ISAMARO) vs Baboo-Custom (KHR-3HV Custom). ROBO-ONE Light 5th champion was Uchiman Z Gold by Team Mogu-Mogu.  The champion got the right to join the 21th ROBO-ONE Tournament.



ROBO-ONE Light 1st took place at the same place on Mar 20th, 2010,  ROBO-ONE Light 2nd on May 22nd, 2010, ROBO-ONE Light 3rd on Oct 8th, 2011 and ROBO-ONE Light 4th on Mar 24th, 2012.

Metallic Vaio 2012, a Unique New Type Custom-Built Robot (July 21, 2012)

Metallic Vaio 2012, a unique new type robot with two long arms or legs custom-built by Morinaga-san, who is famous for his biped robot, Metallic Fighter and is called Father of ROBO-ONE joined the 6th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race on July 21, 2012.

Metallic Vaio 2012 cleared the course with 2 minutes and 17 seconds, the 2nd place. Metallic Vaio 2012 also got the MVP prize.

Metallic Vaio 2012 has 18 axes. Two long arms or legs work as caterpillar. Demonstration video in the 6th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race is as follows;



The 2nd trial video of Metallic Vaio 2012 in the 6th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race is as follows. Metallic Vaio cleared the course with 2 minutes and 17 seconds which record was the 2nd place.

The 6th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race took place at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, Tokyo on July 21, 2012.

KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race is the competition for multi-legged robots and the 1st one was carried out at ROBOSPOT on
Dec 23, 2010.

Ten multi-legged  robots, such as 4-legged and 6-legged robot joined the race.   Robot joined were Metallic Vaio 2012 (Team Morinaga), WaniWani (KENTA), Garutan (Kumama), Tama-Kagi-Machine (Tma-Kagakugijutsu High School Robot Club), Dark Liger (Moriken), TicTac6.5 (Amino), Milfy (Matsuo), Soen type.L01 (HERO@Musen-ken), Miwakuno-Takyaku-kun (Takahashi) and BLACK TIGER L44 (IKETOMU).



The  6th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race Results

Each robot had twice real time record race.  In the 6th KONDO LAND Obstacle Race, Metallic Vaio 2012, Dark Liger and BLACK TIGER L44 could clear the course within 3 minutes. The 1st place was BLACK TIGER L44 which cleared 2 minutes and 15 seconds. The 2nd place was Metallic Vaio 2012 cleared 2 minutes and 17 seconds and the 3rd place was Dark Liger cleared 2 minutes and 37 seconds.  

The MVP was Metallic Vaio 2012 custom-built by Morinaga-san for unique 18 axes robot with 2 long arms or legs.

Metallic Vaio 2012; Two long arm or legged robot custom-built by Morinaga-san who is famous for biped robot, Metallic Fighter and called father of ROBO-ONE. The 2nd run, it took 2 minutes and 17 second for clearing the course. Metallic Vaio 2012 was the 2nd place and also got the MVP of the 6th KONDO LAND.

The 9th Wandahoo Robot Carnival will take place and be shown on USTREAM, July 15th, 2012 (July 11, 2012)

The 9th Wandahoo Robot Carnival  will be held at Takaonomori Wakuwaku Village in Hachioji City, Tokyo on July 15th, 2012.

The competition will be shown on `Ustream Wandahoo Robot Carnival` from 12:30 to 18:30 (JST).

The 9th Wandahoo Robot Carnival videos are keeping in the Ustrean Wandahoo Robot Carnival Channel.

Wandahoo Robot Carnival is sponsored by Ishikawa-san and supported by the members of Kanto ROBOT Practice(Kanto-gumi Robot Training Meeting). Ishikawa-san and his stuffs are busy preparing USTREAM Live system of the Carnival now. Entry of the Carnival has finished on July 1st, and 23 robots have entried.

The Carnival is robot competition consisted with various four type games such as Dash 2000 (competition of 2 robots, 2 m U-turn course foot race; each robot gets points depended on the order of record time), Bottle Traction (pushing or pulling a basket with 500 or 1000 ml bottles for 2 m within 1 minute; points are multiplication of number of bottles and distance carried), Dice Shot (dice soccer of 2 robots; each robot gets points depended on the spots of dice shot for 2 minutes) and Cubs (team game of 3 robots each, carrying cubs to own territory for 2 minutes; winner team members get points) and Robot Fight with the best 4 robots. Therefore, this Carnival is called `Robot Olympic`.

Each robot gets points from each game. In the case of team game, winner team member robots gets points. Four robots gotten many points can join the final tournament of Robot Fight. The rest robots have Ramble Fights. Those games were planned by Ishikawa-san.
It is necessary for winner that the robot has a high activity with performance and also good luck.


The 1st Carnival took place on July 16, 2006 and then the Carnival held twice in January and July every year. From 2010, the Carnival takes place in July once a year. ROBO XERO has been Completed on June, 2012

DeAGOSTINI issued weekly magazine,`Weekly ROBO XERO` with robot parts of ROBO XERO on Feb 8th, 2011.   ROBO XERO parts was attached every weekly magazine. I reported the details of the ROBO XERO in this blog on Dec 21, 2010.  Robot has completed with 70 volumes of magazineon on June, 2012.

ROBO XERO is based `JO-ZERO` of Himeji Softworks. Servo moters `RS306MD` of Futaba Corporation are used for the robot with 24 axes.  The weight is 900 g and height is 300 mm.  The robot is suitable for the U1K ( Under 1 kg ) robot fight competition.

Dr. GIY, famous ROBO-ONE robot builder also cmpleted the ROBO XERO and uploaded cool videos as follows;







Details of JO-ZERO and JO-ZERO Type-2, a New Model of JO-ZERO were described in this blog.   The  remarkable difference between JO-ZERO and ROBO-XERO is structure of hand.  New robot can grip.

The 12th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (June.24, 2012)

The 12th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on June. 24, 2012.  Eight robots joined the 12th Survival Game were KIKUCHI-1gou (left),  Aigis (back left), Denryu (back center), CR-Cannon (CR-Cannon), Stallone (front left), Yabusame (front center left), BLACK TIGER L45 (front center right) and Zerotank (front right)

Mokei-juku, for Figure Making Lesson Room was used for the 12th Robot Survival Game Field as the 10th one. The floor seemed to be good for survival game because it was enough large to battle and not flat. 

Robot Survival Game was planned by Tanaka-san and Bishii-san. Mobile, not only multi-legged robot or biped robot but also mobile with wheel or caterpillar, which equipped with toy gun, hit sensor and camera system, can join to play survival game.  The 1st Robot Survival Game took place at Akihabara, Tokyo on July 19, 2010 and the game takes place every 2 months. Tanaka-san also planned several kind of survival game, such as Extermination Battle, Flag Battle and Fortress Battle.

Eight robots joined the 12th Survival Game were divided into two teams.  Gons-san Team members were Denryu (Gons), BLACK TIGER L45 (IKETOMU) and Zerotank (Ninagawa). Noborizaka-san Team were Stallone (Noborizaka), CR-Cannon (Yoshida), KIKUCHI 1-gou (TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE Student Team), Yabusame (Mota) and Aigis (Tanaka).   All robot were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Robot Survival Games such as Combat Shooting, Fox Hunting, Extermination Battle, Flag Battle, Best One vs Others and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 12th Robot Survival Game. The details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).

The 11th Robot Survival Game at AKIBA CULTURES ZONE, Tokyo (Apr.29, 2012)

The 11th Robot Survival Game took place at AKIBA CULTRES ZONE, Tokyo on Apr. 29, 2012.   Robot Survival Game was planned by Tanaka-san and Bishii-san. Mobile, not only multi-legged robot or biped robot but also mobile with wheel or caterpillar, which equipped with toy gun, hit sensor and camera system, can join to play survival game.  The 1st Robot Survival Game took place at Akihabara, Tokyo on July 19, 2010 and the game takes place every 2 months. Seven robots joined the 11th Survival Game were Gonbei Mk-Ⅱ(front left), Aigis (front center), Yabusame (front right), CR CANNON (back left), BLACK TIGER L45 (back center left), Stallone (back center right) and Denryu (back right).

Joined 7 robot were divided into two teams. Gons-san Team members were Denryu (Gons), BLACK TIGER L45 (IKETOMU) and CR CANNON (Yoshida).  Noborizaka-san Team were Stallone (Noborizaka), Yabusame (mota), Gonbei Mk-Ⅱ(B-saku) and Aisgis (Tanaka).  One team was consisted with 3 robots, one of three robots was controlled without camera system and laser sighting system, other 2 robots were  controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).    Battle Royal was carried out without camera system.  The details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (in Japanese).

AKIBA CULTRES ZONE, a small exhibition figure room on the underground floor was used as the 11th Robot Survival Game Field.  Robot Survival Games such as Extermination Battle, Flag Battle, Fox Hunting and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out.

ROBOT JAPAN Team joined RoboGames 2012 (Apr 20-21, 2012)

RoboGames is the Olympics of robots from around the world to compete in over 50 different events such as combat robots, fire-fighters, LEGO bots, hockey bots, walking humanoids, soccer bots, sumo bots, and even androids that do kung-fu. Some robots are autonomous, some are remote controlled. As an open event, anyone can join.

The 9th annual games, RoboGames 2012 took place on Apr 20-22, 2012 at San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, CA.   Fifty-nine event took place and 682 Robots joined of  238 teams from 16 countries.  Results from RoboGames 2012 are here.   

Team Robot Japan joined RoboGames 2012 and got 10 medals.  Real King Kizer custom-built by Maru-san got the Best of Show Gold Medal.     Kageki-san, Lem-san and Sanzai-san reported Team Robot Japan in their blog with cool videos and pictures.

I tried to review games and to collect videos joined Team Robot Japan.  Team Robot Japan robots were introduced in the Robot Japan's web site.   The leaders of Team Robot Japan were Koguma-san and Kazuko-san were introduced in Kageki-san's blog.   Promotion Video of  Team Robot Japan also uploaded as Robot Japan US Tour 2012, Robot Japan US 2012 Tour-2 and Robot Pro Wrestling US Tour 2012 by Lem-san.

Zaura custom-built by Kenta-san is a member robot of Robot Pro-Wrestling `Dekinnoka!'.  Ryuketsu Kamen, KHR-3HV based wrestler robot by Oamata-san who is sponsor of the Robot Pro-Wrestling `Dekinnoka!.  Tokotoko-Maru custom-built by Amino-san is well known as Japaanese classical Japanese dancing robot.  Real King Kizer custom-built by Maru-san moves as Real Steel Robot with 100 cm height.   Kazumin is a KHR-3HV based robot by Oguma-san.   Kazugon is a KHR-3HV based robot by Kazuko-san.  Thunder Bolt, custom-built by Shibata-san is also a member of the Robot Pro-Wrestling.

Kageki-san reported Team Robot Japan in RoboGames 2012 on the 1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day part 1, part 2 and part 3.

Robot Pro-Wrestling 'Dekinnoka!' in the UK Gadget Show and in RoboGames 2012 (Mar 11, Apr 20-21, 2012)

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!10.5`  took place at Robospot in Akihabara, Tokyo on Mar 11, 2012 for the UK Gadget Show.  ` Dekinnoka` also took place in the RoboGames 2012 on Apr 20-22, 2012 and the main character robot, Ryuketsu Kamen got the Gold medal in the Humanoid Freestyle Kit Class.

`Dekinnoka!` in Japanese, means `Can you do it?`.   As Omata-san, producer of `Dekinnoka` has been loving real professional wrestling, the 1st Robot Professional Wrestling in Soka on Nov. 3rd, 2008 was planned and held by him.   He explained the 'Robot Professional Wrestling' was not 'Wrestling' but 'Fighting Arts'. The purpose of `Dekinnoka!` was not only robot fight but also to inform pleasure of robot.

Details of the UK Gadget Show visiting  Japan, deciding to build a humanoid robot, and getting  in the ring with Robot Pro-Wrestling Robots were described in the ROBOSAVVEY as Robosavvy helped making Gadget Show's Japan robotics episode.    Ninja robot wrestler fought with Ryuketsu Kamen, Yukikaze and the Champion Great Saaga.

ROBO-ONE 20th Biped Robot Fight in Kawasaki (Part 3) ROBO-ONE 20th Tournamnt (Mar 25, 2012)

ROBO-ONE 20th sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at Institute of Industrial Promotion Kawasaki Hall in Kawasaki City on Mar 24-25th, 2012.   

In ROBO-ONE 20th,  ROBO-ONE Light 4th took place on Mar 24th, 9 m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Mar 24th and the main event ROBO-ONE 20th tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Mar 25th.

Regulations of ROBO-ONE 20th
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg.  Details of the body regulation were same as those of the 19th. 

ROBO-ONE 20th Tournament (Light Class, 3 kg or Under)

ROBO-ONE 20 was held as the tournament with 50 robots which were winners of the local robot competitions and upper place 48 robots in the preliminary competition, 9 m Footrace. 

The winner was Garoo by Kumama-san, who also got a prize of 5 hundred thousand yen.  The second place was Gargoil-mini by Yoshida-san.  The 3rd place was Cortejyu by SHIBAURA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.  Result of the tournament was here.

In ROBO-ONE 20th,  ROBO-ONE Light 4th took place on Mar 24th, 9 m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Mar 24th and the main event ROBO-ONE 20th tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Mar 25th.

9 m Footrace

ROBO-ONE 20th was held as the tournament with 50 robots which were winners of the local robot competitions and upper place robots in the preliminary competition, 9 m Footrace. 

Nine meters Footrace was carried out as the preliminary competition to select 48 robots and to decide the tournament order.  Upper 48 robots could attend the tournament.  Seventy-three robots including robots which had the right to join the ROBO-ONE 20th joined the preliminary 9 m Footrace.

Robots had to walk 9 m course with 90 cm width within 1 minute.   Each robot time record taken 9 m walk,  or the distance from start point if robot could not walk within 1 minute, or robot fell down from the course was recorded.

Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 9 m course seemed to be not flat in some parts and the center of the course was pasted sponsor advertise label. Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 9 m course for most of robots. A lot of  robots ran out of the course including Frosty, which seemed to be the fastest robot.  The result is here.

The 1st place was Garoo by Kumama-san, 13.31 seconds, the 2nd place was YOGOROZA by DOUBT-san, 14.12 seconds, the 3rd place was automo 05(Go-Wan) by holypong-san, 14.81 seconds, the 4th place was Mongirouni by GR2-san, 15.68 seconds, the 5th place was HAUSER by Craftman-san, 16.25 and BLACK TIGER NEO, my robot was the 11th place, 30.65 seconds.

 Just 34 robots could reach the goal within 1 minute. Upper 5 robots were 10 seconds, the 6th to 10th robots were 20 seconds, 11th to 23rd were 30 seconds, 24th to 31st were 40 seconds and 32rd to 34th were 50 seconds.

ROBO-ONE 20th Biped Robot Fight in Kawasaki (Part 1) ROBO-ONE Light 4th (Mar 24, 2012)

ROBO-ONE 20th sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at Institute of Industrial Promotion Kawasaki Hall in Kawasaki City on Mar 24-25th, 2012.   

In ROBO-ONE 20th,  ROBO-ONE Light 4th took place on Mar 24th, 9 m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Mar 24th and the main event ROBO-ONE 20th tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Mar 25th.

ROBO-ONE Light 4th

ROBO-ONE Light is robot fight tournament for robots on the market, which are officially recognized by ROBO-ONE Committee. Beginner, who gets robot from the market and want to attend the ROBO-ONE Tournament, also can attend the competition with his robot which is made from just robot kit. Custom-built robot, just the weight 1 kg or under also can attend the tournament. The winner of Light Class gets the right to attend the 20th ROBO-ONE tournament on the next day.

The regulations are as follows;
1) Officially recognized robot regulation
Robots on the market, officially recognized by ROBO-ONE Committee, can attend the competition whether the robot adapt ROBO-ONE 20th regulation nor not. Remodeling is prohibited. Head parts can be remodeled and also covering robot body with plastic or paper is permitted.
2) Robot weight except for the officially recognized robot is 1 kg or under and the robot has to adapt ROBO-ONE 20th regulation.

In the tournament, custom-built robots handicapped by about 500 g compared with officially recognized kits such as KHR-3HV. It was interesting that how builder of custom robot 1 kg or under overcame the weight handicap and which robot kit was able to win the tournament. However, it is necessary for getting championship of robot fight tournament to carry 3 important factors such as good body, good motion and good control.

Thirty-four robots joined the tournament. They were 2 KHR-2HVs, 12 KHR-3HVs including ROBO-ONE Custom, 2 ISAMARO, 8 TINNYWAVEs from KOREA and 10 custom-built robots 1kg or under.

RONO-ONE Light 4th tournament was carried out divided four blocks, all blocks winners were TINYWAVE from KOREA.  Custom-built UK1 robot could overcome the weight handicap 500g. 
The Champion was ROBOROBO5 (TINYWAVE), the 2nd place was ROBOROBO4 (TINYWAVE) and the 3rd place was ROBOROBO1 (TINYWAVE).  The results are here.

The 10th KONDO BATTLE at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, Tokyo (Mar. 3, 2012)

The 10th KONDO BATTLE sponsored by KONDO KAGAKU CO., LTD took place on Mar. 3, 2012 at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, TOKYO.    The 10th KONDO BATTLE was carried out as Student Class, Open Class and Exhibition Class.   Winner of Student Class and Open Class got the right to join the final tournament of  the 20th ROBO-ONE in Kawasaki on Mar. 25, 2012.  The main regulation following the 20th ROBO-ONE was the weight of robot, which had to be 3 kg or under 3 kg.

Twenty-two robots; Student Class 9, Open Class 6 and Exhibition Class 7, joined the competition.
The 10th KONDO BATTLE had 6 tournaments as Student Class Regular Tournament, Open Class Regular Tournament, Exhibition Class Regular Tournament, Student Class Back Tournament, Open Class Back Tournament and Exhibtion Class Back Tournament.  Back Tournaments were held by loser of the Rugular Tournaments.

The winner of Student Class Regular Tournament was Kurou-2gou, custom-built by Chiba Institute of Technology Team, Open Class was Gargoil-mini by Yoshida Family, Exhibition Class was Garoo by Kumama-san.   Kurou-2gou and Gargoil-mini got the right to join the 20th ROBO-ONE tournament would be held on Mar. 25, 2012.  The winner of Student Class Back Tournament was Cortejyu, Open Class was Chrom-kid and Exhibition Class was Nagare-Gold.

Noborizaka-san Team were Stallone (Noborizaka), Vanga (Igaa) and Benkei (Ohguma) .   All robot were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Okawara-Mecha Battle Tournament at INAGI MUNICIPAL iPLAZA, Tokyo (Feb. 18, 2012)

Okawara-Mecha Battle Tournament took place at INAGI MUNICIPAL iPLAZA, Tokyo on Feb. 18, 2012 during Exhibition of Works by Kunio Okawara, who is well known as a Mechanic Designer of Mobile Suit in the famous animation `MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM`.

Twenty-three robots joined the tournament. It was possible to order of the song when robot entered the ring. The main regulation for robots joined was to wear the exterior of Okawara works such as GUNDAM. Robot could use a gun and if the bullet from the gun hit the opponent, Robot got one-down. The other robot fight regulations were the same as the ROBO-ONE Tournament.

I think the most excelent robot was BERSERGA IMITATE custom-built by Igaa-san.



There were two good shaped Zaku Ⅱ, which were custom-built by Nagu-san and Kupapa-san.

The 1st stage, GUNDAM RGM-79 vs ZAKU Ⅱfor Char Aznable. The winner was ZAKU Ⅱ.


The 2nd stage, BERSERGA IMITATE vs MS-06F ZAKU Ⅱ. BERSERGA IMITATE shot gun, however miss the opponent. The winner was ZAKU Ⅱ.


The most amusing robot was Daidokoron which was character robot in Yater-Man. Daidokoron used a gun which hit opponent and got downs. The 1st stage, Yatta-Wan vs Daidokoron. The winner was Daidokoron .



Final Fight was carried out with 3 robots; ACGUY, Daidokoron and SD LAYZNER as Rumble Fight. The winner was ACGUY custom-built by Kumama-san, the 2nd place was Daidokoron by 3 Evils and the 3rd place was SD LAYZNER by Ishikawa-san.
